Deep relaxing massage

This is your time to breathe, sink into your body and allow the tension to melt away…

My massage treatments will take you into blissful relaxation while working deep into the problematic areas. I flow intuitively with what you express you need from the treatment, while reading your body and responding to what I discover as I come into contact with it. I draw on wide range of techniques including holistic massage, Swedish massage, deep tissue and sports massage, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, pressure points and Indian head massage. I like to start my treatments with a couple of slow myofascial release holds. This calms your nervous system, releases the general tension held in the system, softens the tissues and prepares your muscles for deeper massage strokes. If you are aware of problematic areas that need more attention, but would still like a full body massage, I highly recommend booking 90 minute session to allow more time for complete experience.

Therapeutic Bodywork

If you scrolled all the way down here, you are probably experiencing pain or tension that is affecting your movement or your ability to enjoy life fully. Whether it is tension in your shoulders or back, niggling pain in your hip, injury that you struggle to recover from, a scar that started causing you issues, or a chronic issue that has been with you for years, you are in the right place.

I treat the body as a whole, and as a part of complex system, in which it is intimately interlinked with your nervous system, energy field, emotions and subconscious beliefs about yourself and the world. Often the physical ailments are a manifestation of disturbances in the more subtle realms of your system. And the opposite is true too, a physical trauma can deeply affect our emotions, nervous system, etc. Therefore, while I work directly with the soft tissues of your body, I hold space for anything else that needs to be seen, acknowledged or released from your system in order for you to fully heal yourself. I like to use breath and various somatic practices to guide you into relaxation and find more ease in your body.

I always look at your postural alignment and fascial restrictions, as they are often at the root of any physical issues. Fascia is a densely woven connective tissue, that spreads like a web through our bodies, covering and interpenetrating every muscle, bone, nerve, artery, vein, and our internal organs (including heart, brain and spinal cord), even enveloping our cells. Stress, trauma, repetitive strain, inflammatory responses, injuries or surgical interventions can cause restrictions and adhesions in our fascia in certain areas. These will create lines of pull and compensations in other parts of the body, thus affecting the whole system. When the joints are pulled out of alignment (their optimal position), some muscles shorten, some weaken, and other muscles have to work harder to compensate, and fascia thickens even more to protect this unstable structure. The joints will be compressed and more susceptible to wear and tear. If our fascia is tight, it can make us feel tired, cause low energy or headaches, restricts our movement and our ability for interoception will be decreased as well.

Myofascial release is at the core of my therapeutic work, but I draw on various techniques from my Sports therapy training: soft tissue release and manipulation, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular techniques, sports massage, postural assessment, corrective exercise, etc. I can offer you a few exercises and self-care advice to speed up your recovery and to empower you to take part in your healing. We will chat about your lifestyle, habits or workout style to establish whether something you habitually do is contributing to your issue.

We can address a wide range of conditions:

  • Muscle and joint pain
  • General tension and back pain
  • Postural and mobility issues
  • Fatigue, stress, headaches
  • Injuries – prevention, rehabilitation and overuse injuries
  • Scar tissue release and reintegration – some scars start causing issues overtime, creating adhesions, restricting movement of tissues or causing pain, pulling or burning sensations
